The party continued last night after SmackDown rolled off-cameras. Following an eventful episode, the WWE Universe in Des Moines was treated with the ceremonious arrival of their hometown hero and the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. From the moment he entered the arena till the time he left, his theme song was serenaded at the top of everyone’s voices.

Quite evidently, Rollins has the most over theme across any wrestling promotion. But that just didn’t happen overnight. He worked tirelessly, travelled across the globe to make his presence felt in each and every market. The scenes weren’t any different yesterday too.

The Visionary successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against Damian Priest in a dark match. The match was quite decent in terms of its quality. However, that’s not much of a surprise when two such world class athletes tango inside that squared circle. What made that experience even better was the vociferous crowd.

Even after going bananas for two straight hours of SmackDown, Des Moines had the energy to treat Seth Rollins in such a pleasing way. At this point, any city serenading to Rollins’ battle hymn isn’t an awe anymore, cause that’s become a part of the routine. That being said, the fan engagement into WWE product has increased considerably in the past 8 months or so. Triple H is steering the vehicle pretty efficiently and the record-setting metrics speak volumes for it.

What’s in the near future of Seth Rollins?

As WWE head towards Money in the Bank, they’ve figured out an opponent for Rollins at the event. After last week’s Raw, it’s clear as daylight that Finn Balor is stepping up against The Architect in London. Although it’s an exciting combo and the match in itself would be great, there’s a meagre probability of a title change.

That being said, the higher-ups should start exploring their options for the summer. Taking that into perspective, Drew McIntyre’s name comes in mind at the foremost. He’s been running absent since WrestleMania this year. Amidst reports of his creative dissatisfaction, his return date isn’t certain at this point.

However, if he does return and eventually turns heel, that would make a money feud with Rollins. Fans already have enough of McIntyre’s Scottish Warrior persona, and to be honest, it was good until Clash at the Castle last year. Following that, his character kept declining. Him reverting back to his Scottish Psychopath gimmick can turn things around for the 2-time WWE Champion.
