In any working environment, it has remained essential to celebrate the people who work there. On the same note, WWE likes to extend its wishes to its superstars and it seems the latest recipient has caught the fans by surprise. He is none other than the eccentric superstar, Dexter Lumis.

This recent wish has raised several questions about the status of Lumis with WWE. The 40-year-old superstar has been away from the action for so long that fans began to believe that he got quietly released by the company. It seems that the Stamford-based company wanted to erase this speculation in one of the nicest ways possible.

Many fans have been pushing for the former NXT Talent to once again be a part of newer storylines. They hope that this new development could be a green light for better things to come. Lumis was released back in 2022, however, after being absent for a few months. He was brought back into the Company.

Lumis’s last memorable rivalry came up against The Miz on Monday Night Raw. He entered the picture as a stalker who would eventually win against the former WWE Champion. Adam Pearce would then offer him a Raw contract, however, nothing major came out of that development.

Wrestling fans are flabbergasted at the prolonged absence of Dexter Lumis

With diverse talents from across the world competing for a place in WWE, it becomes natural for some of the talent to stay missing from active competition. Dexter Lumis is one such name.

After being released from the Stamford-based company, Lumis had to surf the independent circuit only for a brief period as he was once again signed in August 2022. With the latest birthday wish from WWE, here’s how fans reacted to the shock of his presence on the roster.

Lumis had a rollercoaster-like run in his rivalry with The Miz. However, the WWE Universe remains concerned about the lack of space he is being provided. While others rejoiced for his birthday, many took the opportunity to critique the WWE’s creative regime.

Reflecting on his career, his 29th November 2022, “Anything Goes” match against The Miz is remembered for its chaotic culmination and the way Lumis shared his money with the fans. In his last act, he also got to rekindle his bond with the current one-half of DIY, Johnny Gargano. He was last seen at NXT Stand and Deliver 2023, where he aided Indi Hartwell in winning the NXT Women’s Championship.
