This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony was full of surprises. Legends like Rob Van Dam and The Undertaker‘s appearances made the ceremony wonderful. However, there was one more shocking appearance fans never thought they would see. Current AEW wrestler Keith Lee was seen backstage prior to the ceremony, which caught fans by surprise on social media.

During the preparations for the ceremony, backstage interviewer Kayla Braxton interviewed CM Punk.  Although all eyes were on The Second City Saint, the WWE Universe also noticed Keith Lee in the background, just for a few moments. However, it looked like he wasn’t surprised to be in that particular position, as he quickly went over to the other side.

Lee had his best times in NXT, where he once became a double champion with NXT and the North American Championship. However, things didn’t work out for him on the main roster, as he failed to win any titles. He was released by the WWE on November 4 2021, and made his debut in AEW after three months.

He found instant success in the Jacksonville-based company, as he became the AEW Tag Team Champion along with Swerve Strickland. As of now, he is out with an injury after going through double surgeries in January. It will be interesting to see what this surprise appearance in WWE means for him.

The WWE Universe was taken by surprise when they noticed current AEW superstar Keith Lee at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony before WrestleMania. His shocking appearance certainly made fans think about his possible return to WWE.

One fan was worried that AEW co-owner Tony Khan wouldn’t be happy seeing him in the rival promotion at all. Another fan said Lee made a bold decision to appear in WWE, and it would turn out bad for him. Here are some of the top reactions from fans: 

Some fans criticized his body shape and said he doesn’t belong in the Stamford-based company. Meanwhile, a fan made a logical comment and said he was there because his wife, Mia Yim, is a current WWE superstar. Overall, the majority of fans were shocked to see Keith Lee at the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
