“Falling down is how we grow”: Finn Balor reacts to his United States Championship loss

Balor

Finn Balor is one of the biggest Superstars on the WWE roster today. Currently performing on RAW brand, Balor was catapulted into stardom during his time on New Japan Pro-Wrestling. In addition to this, he has even performed on several independent promotions – ICW, RPW and NWA. He signed with NXT soon, WWE’s developmental brand.

Winning the NXT Championship, The Prince went on to become the longest reigning Champion. He arrived on the main roster in 2016, where he went on to become the inaugural Universal Championship at Summerslam. He even has an alter-ego, Demon – who was undefeated until last year!

In 2019, Finn Balor returned to NXT for a couple of years – where he again held the NXT Championship. In 2021, he returned to the main roster once again – and unfortunately, his recent run has been quite underwhelming. Earlier this year, he pinned Damian Priest he went on to win the United States Championship.

After quite a disappointing reign as the United States Champion, on the latest episode of RAW, Austin Theory pinned Finn Balor to win the title. It was a sudden end and the Prince has finally taken to Twitter to react to the loss – ““Falling down is how we grow. Staying down is how we die. STAND UP”

Balor was a transitional Champion and it has been a recurring problem for Balor’s main roster run. The company is yet to figure out the right use for The Prince – and it can only be hoped that we see him being used properly soon.

Now Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, was once just the Champion of the Blue brand. He was involved in a feud against Finn Balor back then. They first collided in an episode of Smackdown – where the Tribal Chief managed to retain the title.

The second collision took place at Extreme Rules – where Balor decided to bring out his alter ego. He came really close to winning the title – but the ring collapsed mysteriously in the final moments of the match. This ended the Demon’s undefeated streak.
