Commentary is one of the most important aspects of WWE. On SmackDown, Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick have been calling the show lately. However, it looks like WWE is bringing back Michael Cole for the Blue Brand once again due to some unknown reason. A new report clarifies the return of the veteran to SmackDown.

According to PWInsider, Michael Cole is going to be present on SmackDown this week for commentary. Although it was announced that Kevin Patrick is going to be on the show, replacing Cole. The 55-year-old superstar became a Monday Night Raw exclusive. The reason behind this change is yet to be clarified. However, a few rumors emerged recently that Patrick had failed to deliver. Therefore, WWE is heading back to Cole on both Raw and SmackDown.

Michael Cole is a WWE legend. He is known for his iconic commentary. The broadcaster is one of the most experienced people to sit on the table with an earpiece in professional wrestling. People had high hopes for Kevin to fill his shoes. However, that was not the case, as his commentary was pretty average, as considered by the fans.

According to Aaron Varble, Patrick is gone from the commentary desk. He stated that he felt Corey Graves was the one who was responsible for calling SmackDown. Kevin was introduced recently on the first edition of SmackDown in 2024. However, he has been removed now.

Kevin Patrick is gone unless something changes. I don’t know the details, I don’t know who’s replacing him. I’m not surprised. They just did an announcer change on the 1st of the year, so it was a couple of weeks ago. Like I said, I’m not surprised, Corey Graves has been totally carrying the SmackDown announcing.
