“That was his vision” Former superstar lauds Triple H for his contribution in evolving NXT
Triple H
Theodore James “TJ” Wilson wrestled in WWE as Tyson Kidd. The former NXT superstar in 2017 suffered a spinal injury forcing him to retire from wrestling. NXT has evolved into a stronger brand thanks to Triple H’s efforts.
The Game created a legacy which far exceeded his wrestling career. Acting as the executive producer of the NXT, Triple H was NXT’s MVP since 2010 and was instrumental in the success of the now reformed black and gold brand. So much was his influence on the developmental brand that people started equating it with RAW and Smackdown.
During an interview with Danial Ali on DropKick Podcast, Kidd expressed his gratitude to Triple H for his guidance throughout his tenure on NXT:
“I wrestled him a couple times. I had a couple of matches against DX, two tag matches and one match with Bragging Rights for seven on seven and always a great experience wrestling him, competing with him. And he’s the guy who was behind all my NXT stuff. NXT was his thing. If he didn’t want me there, he easily could have said no. That was his vision. Like the stuff with Nattie and stuff like I didn’t come up with that. That was Hunter!”
Continuing his praise for The Game, the former Hart Foundation member, acclaimed Triple H and said that NXT illustrates Hunter’s vision:
“I give him all the credit for that and what he made NXT and what NXT became. When I remember doing the first taping of Full Sail Wrestle, Joe Henning and nobody thought it was going to be what it became. No way, and they know that that’s a testament to the talent but it’s a big testament to Hunter, to Triple H and his vision. Big time.”
Triple H praised by wrestlers from other promotions as well
Triple H’s influence in the Pro Wrestling entertainment is so much that some Ex-WWE wrestlers still praise him. Adam Cole, who left WWE for AEW in September last year was all praises for The Cerebral Assassin. In an interview with Fightful, Adam Cole opened up on his relationship with Triple H and the news about his retirement:
“He was a huge, huge mentor to me. So, to get that news was really disheartening because I know how much professional wrestling means to a guy like Hunter. However, at the same time, his health is the most important thing and his family is the most important thing. So, I’m glad that he’s able to take care of himself and make sure he needs to do what he has to do to get on that track. ”
