28-year-old Superstar, who was released from WWE amid long injury hiatus, flaunts her squatting prowess in a skimpy video drop

WWE often releases their wrestlers in chunks whenever they feel like it. As a billion-dollar conglomerate, it’s just business for them. However, the ones on the receiving end of those terminations suffer the most. Recently, the company fired multiple wrestlers on the trot, and one of them was Aliyah. The latter was off television since the September 12th edition of Raw, where she lost the women’s tag team titles alongside Raquel Rodriguez.
About a year later, on September 21, WWE released her. Allegedly, she was healing from multiple injuries and therefore wasn’t featured in any storyline. However, it doesn’t appear to be the case anymore. Recently, Aliyah dropped a poolside video rocking her scorching look in a skimpy bikini. She squatted a muscular fellow. The Ontario-born wrestler made a statement that she’s as fit as a fiddle.
Just maybe she wanted to remind her old colleagues that they might’ve jumped on the gun by releasing her. Aliyah made headlines when she beat Natalya in 3:17 seconds on SmackDown, making that the record for the fastest WWE match in history. In the months leading up to her impressive victory, the company decided to put her in a bizarre storyline with Lacey Evans.
It completely averted the spotlight from Aliyah and instead focused on aggravating Lacey’s evil persona. However, she tasted her first success while pairing up with Raquel Rodriguez, and they eventually dethroned Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky to become the Women’s Tag Team Champions. Their run was cut short as the budding duo lost the gold after just two weeks of winning it.
Aliyah seemingly frustrated from her time in WWE
After her release from WWE, Aliyah vented her frustration. Taking it to her Instagram account, she posted a clip of hers alongside Raquel Rodriguez from the Raw; they captured the tag titles. However, the caption garnered more attention than anything. She wrote how WWE never wanted her to be their top star. However, the fans made it that way for Aliyah.
While on hiatus, she was seemingly upset. The Syrian-descent superstar kept dropping teases through her social media that WWE had no plans for her. Despite the continuous adversity, her fans didn’t lose hope and wanted to see her back in WWE’s women’s division.
However, it was not to be, as the promotion had nothing for the 28-year-old. Outside of WWE, Aliyah has competed on an independent circuit. The Canadian wrestler has proved her mettle in promotions like Pure Wrestling Association, Absolute Intense Wrestling, etc.
