FTR, a.k.a. The Revival had been very public about their contract status with AEW. Moreover, the first-ever WWE Triple Crown tag team champions have also shown a desire to move back to their former workplace. Amidst all these rumors, the tag team made a shocking return this past Sunday at AEW Revolution to confront the current AEW Tag Team Champions, The Gunns. Recently, Dax Harwood finally spoke for the first time since his return.
In the latest episode of his podcast, FTR with Dax, the AEW superstar gave an update about where his mind is at regarding the upcoming contract deadline. Dax Harwood told the listeners that “Zero has changed” in their contract deals. This comes after there were some reports that Tony Khan had locked in another deal with the FTR.
While weighing his options, the former AEW tag team champion explained the pros and cons of both major companies they could go to. According to him, AEW has a much lighter schedule and an open creative policy. On top of that, it also has the potential to do much more work with other companies. FTR was notably the AAA, IWGP, and ROH champion at the same time, which would’ve been impossible in WWE.
Talking about WWE, Dax said, “In WWE, they’re on a creative high right now and I think they could keep that creative high up. They are the number one wrestling promotion, one of the top entertainment acts in the world, and have a proven track record. Strictly comes down to happiness. I don’t want to say that report is right or wrong because it doesn’t matter. Half the people are going to on Twitter and say I’m lying or trying to work.”

When does FTR’s contract with AEW expire?

Dax Harwood commented more on these reports, saying that they “are going to say what they want.” However, the former WWE superstar also told his fans to be patient and “allow everything to play out.” Giving the exact days left on his contract FTR member, said, “We have a month and 18 days left to make a decision on what we’re going to do. I’m not in any kind of peril as far as getting ourselves in trouble.”
Thus, if Triple H is looking to sign one of his favourite tag teams from black and gold NXT, he can do so only near the end of April. The fans will get answers about what they’re doing and where they’re going come April. As it stands, FTR is prioritising their happiness over money, making the decision much more complex than it seems.
