WWE Superstar Gable Stevenson has been absent from WWE programming so far. In 2022, WWE announced that Stevenson had signed a developmental contract with WWE and would make his in-ring debut soon. Earlier this year, he made his debut against Baron Corbin in NXT. Unfortunately, the match failed to deliver and met with a lot of criticism online.

USA Wrestling recently reported that the 23-year-old will not be participating in the upcoming Senior World Championships. Stevenson was to be in Serbia for the tournament but has pulled out due to undisclosed reasons. Fans are currently unsure if the reason is related to WWE or not. Heavyweight wrestler Mason Parris will be replacing Gable in the tournament.

Gable Stevenson’s last appearance in WWE was in July when he made his in-ring debut. However, fans quickly turned on Stevenson and started cheering for Baron Corbin, who was to be the heel. WWE had big plans for the Olympian and promoted him as the next Kurt Angle, which fans seemingly disliked. Moreover, Angle put the 23-year-old over in a segment with him on SmackDown a few months ago.

However, the plans have not worked yet, as Gable Stevenson has failed to connect with the audience. He has not been seen on WWE programming since his match with Corbin. Therefore, fans will have to wait and see what changes WWE makes to showcase him in the coming months. The company has invested a lot of resources in the wrestler until now.

Since WWE programming featured Gable Stevenson, he had the potential to become the next Kurt Angle. However, Chad Gable was also from a similar background and had shown that he had the same potential as Angle in the early 2000s.

Gable Stevenson and Chad Gable had a face-off at WrestleMania 38, where the former suplexed the Alpha Academy member to a huge reaction. Both WWE superstars come from amateur wrestling backgrounds and have won Olympic medals. Therefore, fans often compare them to Kurt Angle, who accomplished the same feats in the late 1990s.

Currently, Chad Gable is on a great run. He almost defeated Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship on two separate occasions. He is currently extremely popular with the fans as the favorite to dethrone Gunther. Stevenson, on the other hand, is out of action, waiting for a good storyline to get him a regular feature on WWE programming.
