It still feels like euphoria to even imagine that Edge is performing almost on a full-time basis in 2023. However, that was never handed to him. Instead, he worked his butt off to get this back and end his career on own terms. Today, he’s listed as one of the most decorated WWE Superstars of all-time. Through constant work ethic and sheer determination, the Rated-R Superstar attained those heights.

His debut in 1997 was one of the most iconic ones. Since he came alongside a couple of intimidating vampires namely Gangrel and Christian. The trio was collectively known as The Brood. For what it’s worth, two-thirds of that stable went onto create a Hall of Fame resume after that. However, the irony lies in the case when one realizes that only Gangrel stayed below the bar. For some reason, he wasn’t able to escalate his career into the next orbit.

During a recent virtual chat by K&S WrestleFest, the Vampire Warrior was asked about his remaining aspirations inside of that squared circle. Gangrel implied how he wants Edge to be his final opponent. The Ultimate Opportunist was kind of brought to the limelight by Gangrel. So, the Blackheart Apocalypse needs to have that full-circle moment before capping off his wrestling journey forever.

“To be honest, I would like that one-on-one match with Edge. I started there with him, I’d like to finish it with him, the Gangrel character. The vampire character started in Puerto Rico, but Gangrel [in] WWE, what everybody knows me as, I think I would like to do one more match with Edge. That would be cool.”

What’s next for Edge in WWE?

Coming off with an emphatic win over Finn Balor & Rhea Ripley alongside his wife, Edge thought that his saga with the Judgment Day was over. However, it’s not. This past Monday on Raw, the Master Manipulator collided with Austin Theory for the US Title. After reaching to the brink of capturing the gold, Finn Balor came out of nowhere and crashed Edge’s night.

The Irishman caught WWE HOF’er with a cheap shot, which eventually cost Edge the entire match. Following the bout, Balor unleashed his ruthlessness over an already laid out Edge. The Judgment Day leader unloaded rights & lefts before executing multiple Coup de grace maneuvers over the 11-time World Champion.

Seemingly, a final match is yet to unfold between the two. Plus, this story has come to a point where either of them needs to end this. And what better place than being inside Hell in a Cell to do it? As per some reports, this is exactly what WWE can have at The Showcase of the Immortals to culminate the tumultuous saga between Edge & Balor in Los Angeles.
