Since his debut on the main roster, Gunther has been a dominant WWE Superstar. He is just a few more days away from becoming the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history. Moreover, Gunther had been on an undefeated streak until this week. The Ring General suffered a shocking defeat on Monday Night RAW in a singles match for the first time.

Gunther and Chad Gable were involved in a match for the Intercontinental Championship this week. Chad Gable, who is called as the most underrated superstar in WWE, gave an exceptional performance. During the closing moments of the match, Chad suplexed Gunther over the barricade on ringside before rushing back to the ring and getting a countout victory.

Gunther’s undefeated streak came to an end as he suffered defeat at the hands of the Alpha Academy member. However, he still remains the Intercontinental Champion. As of now, Chad Gable has become the first person to beat Gunther in a singles match since his main roster debut. Watch the video here.

The Ring General was enraged after losing to Chad Gable this week on RAW. According to the speculation, the two superstars will once again lock horns at Payback. WWE might add a stipulation to the match to fuel the rivalry. It will be interesting to hear from the Imperium leader after his big loss at the hands of the Alpha Academy member.

The Intercontinental Champion was involved in an interview with Sam Roberts where he said that everything has a place in wrestling. He went on talking about Johnny Knoxville and Sami Zayn’s feud as well, which entertained him very much. Gunther believes the addition of comedy to a match adds an element of excitement among the fans.

The Imperium member went on talking about Santino Marella and his Cobra maneuver as well. Gunther said everything can be done in a wrestling ring as long as it entertains the fans. The Intercontinental Champion left us with an ambiguous answer to his comedy match. It is going to be interesting to see if he gets to be a part of a comedy match in WWE in the future.
