A historic episode of Raw concluded this week. The main event was scheduled between Gunther and Jey Uso for the Intercontinental Championship. While the match was a “banger”  a moment that happened before the match caught everyone’s attention. Pat McAfee was caught enjoying Uso’s entrance while The Ring General stared at him. Now, Gunther has sent a message after the hilarious moment.

The 36-year-old superstar took to X to take a shot at McAfee by calling him a “stooge.” When Uso’s entrance music hit, the crowd lit up as always. As a result, the commentator joined the fans in the signature up-and-down hands gesture to vibe with Jey. When the Intercontinental Champion looked at him, McAfee was scared for his life and stopped immediately.

The Ring General fought “Main Event” Jey in a prominent title match. The bout started with the Imperium leader dominating and giving a hellacious beatdown to the Yeet Master. By the end, the 10-time Tag Team Champion was able to hit five spears and the Uso splash to cover for the pin. Just before the 3-count, Jimmy Uso rang the bell continuously to distract the referee.

Jimmy has now cost his little brother three separate title matches. First at SummerSlam 2023 against Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship. The next one came on Raw, where Jey and Cody Rhodes defended their Tag Titles against Judgment Day. And now, the Intercontinental Championship on Monday. After the match, Jimmy was seen yelling at Jey that he would always be the bigger brother, heavily teasing their WrestleMania showdown.

Gunther sets yet another feather in his cap setting a tremendous record

The longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion will continue his 620+ reign, all thanks to The Bloodline. Considering his NXT and main roster run, it cannot be denied that Gunther is set to become the next big thing in the WWE. He has given stellar performances this year as well as in the previous year’s Royal Rumble match, setting the record for being in the ring for the longest time in history.

According to TJR Wrestling, the Austrian wrestler has created yet another record. Having now surpassed Pedro Morales, he holds the record for the total number of days as champion. The former NXT United Kingdom Champion has achieved the milestone for both the longest single reign and the longest combined days as champion. Morales held the gold for 617 days across two reigns.

With the record-setting reign continuing, the dominant champion is reaching new heights every day. Since Jey will now be focused on Jimmy for a potential WrestleMania dream showdown, another credible opponent may step up to The Ring General. The Intercontinental Title is not scheduled to be defended at Elimination Chamber: Perth, so it is safe to assume Gunther will walk into WrestleMania XL as The Champ.
