Recently, the WWE on FOX Twitter account created a “what if” wrestling scenario in which John Cena wins the Intercontinental Championship and becomes WWE’s first Grand Slam champion, John Cena has been a 16-time world Champion but he is yet to win the intercontinental Championship. It is the only Championship in WWE that Cena hasn’t won.

Without wasting any time Gunther replied to the post by saying “Ready”. This created a speculation among the WWE Universe that Gunther might face John Cena at the SummerSlam. Since winning it against Ricochet, Gunther again defended against ricochet on the 24th June Edition of Smackdown. He delivered a Tenryu powerbomb to Ricochet and retained the WWE Intercontinental Championship by pinfall. Gunther has now held the title for 19 days and is not slated to defend it any time soon.

To commemorate his 20th year working for the company, John Cena made an appearance on this week’s RAW. In his opening remarks, Cena acknowledged his WWE birthday and thanked the WWE Universe for helping him succeed up to this point and for making him one of the company’s top performers. He concluded by saying his catchphrase “You want some? Come get some”, making it clear that he hasn’t retired from wrestling. It is unclear as of now, when will the Champ wrestle again.
