Randy Orton appears to be joining fellow multi-generational great Cody Rhodes on the injured list, as news broke lately that the decorated superstar will need surgery to correct a nagging back ailment and will miss the remainder of the year.
Randy Orton’s back ailment has kept him off television for about a month, according to WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton Jr. In a recent interview, Bob Orton stated that his son was recovering from a bad back. Randy had certain issues, he said, as a result of his long profession, which spanned over two decades.
Bob said, “He’s got a little bit of a back problem. I think he’ll take care of everything. You know with rehab and everything. After 20, you know, more than 20 years, wear and tear on the body is just, you know, too much.”

How did Randy Orton get injured?
On May 20, RAW Tag Team Champions RK-Bro faced SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos in a Tag Team Title Unification Match. To guarantee that The Bloodline kept the gold, Roman Reigns intervened. The faction brutalized Riddle and Orton after the bout. They smashed Randy’s partner on the announcer’s desk with the steel steps before attacking Randy with the steel stairs.
With The Apex Predator’s back in recovery, fans will be excited to see the 14-time World Champion return to the ring. Randy Orton will have to decide whether he wants to clear his score with The Tribal Chief or take a different path.
