Randy Orton appears to be joining fellow multi-generational great Cody Rhodes on the injured list, as news broke lately that the decorated superstar will need surgery to correct a nagging back ailment and will miss the remainder of the year.
Randy Orton’s back ailment has kept him off television for about a month, according to WWE Hall of Famer Bob Orton Jr. In a recent interview, Bob Orton stated that his son was recovering from a bad back. Randy had certain issues, he said, as a result of his long profession, which spanned over two decades.
Bob said, “He’s got a little bit of a back problem. I think he’ll take care of everything. You know with rehab and everything. After 20, you know, more than 20 years, wear and tear on the body is just, you know, too much.”

How did Randy Orton get injured?
