WWE Hall of famer and Former 6-time world champion Booker T on his podcast, compared US Champion ‘Theory’ to former 16-time World champion John Cena and also talked about McMahon’s seriousness in pushing Theory.

Theory recently saw a meteoric rise as the company’s top star after some segments with the chairman himself. Not only that, he was a major part of a post-match segment involving ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and the boss Vince McMahon. On the recent taping of raw Theory defeated the US champion Fin Balor, winning his first major championship, in the promotion and also cementing his place as Vince’s favorite.

Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast recently, Booker says that the US Champ has consistently shown determination to do better than all of the other players on the card:

“He’s a guy that, you know, let’s just say, a company guy. There’s nothing wrong with that. John Cena was a company guy, a guy that was willing to go out and get the work done no matter whether it was winning or losing. I’m going to go out here and I’m going to get the job done. Whether it’s promoting sales, whatever, I’m going to get the job done. I see a guy like him being cut from that same mode. So, when he won the U.S. championship, it’s the beginning of the rise of Austin Theory,”

Citing John Cena as his idol The US title holder said in an interview that John Cena inspired him to become a WWE superstar also adding that John Cena was a big influence on him:

“He was my main person that motivated me, but I knew at a young age that I wanted to be in WWE, so, I was just a weird kid like 12, I was like ‘I’m wasting time, I need to get ready for my career’, so being like 13-14 people were like ‘what are you doing?’, I was like ‘oh I’m just getting ready for my career in WWE,”
