BREAKING: Two-times Hall of Famer might have signed a WWE contract
There have been recent speculations of AEW reuniting with WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, but according to a new source, AEW officials believe The Hitman has signed a new WWE deal. Bret Hart is one of the very few who have been inducted twice into WWE’s Hall of Fame, one individually and the other being a part of a tag team.
Hall of Famer Bret Hart might be heading to WWE
The possibility of WWE Hall of Famer Bret “Hitman” Hart joining AEW in some form has long been speculated, but that might not be the case anymore. Because AEW hosts a men’s and women’s tournament named after Bret’s late brother, Hall of Famer Owen Hart, some fans anticipated Hart will do something with the firm in the near future.
Some in AEW believe Hart “quietly negotiated a lucrative” contract with WWE that would preclude him from showing up on AEW programming, as per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The reigning ROH and AAA world tag team champions, FTR, have mentioned teaming with Hart as well, and while it will materialize, it will not take place in AEW. Big Time Wrestling revealed last week that Hart will handle FTR in a fight against Brian Pillman Jr. and Brock Anderson at a BTW event in June.
The reality that nothing has been said about Hart in AEW could indicate that WWE has taken steps to prevent this from happening. Hart had previously appeared in AEW, displaying the AEW World Championship for the first time in 2019 at Double or Nothing. Since then, The Excellence of Execution has had no association with AEW, and his WWE contract might be terminated at any time.
