In 2007, Hornswoggle was introduced to the WWE as the illegitimate son of WWE chairman Vince McMahon. The storyline was part of a larger storyline involving the McMahon family and was meant to be a source of humor for the fans. Despite the comedic aspect of the storyline, the two were portrayed as having a close father-son relationship. From Vince publicly disowning Hornswoggle to later accepting him as his son, the two have gone through a range of emotions on-screen.

The relationship between Vince and Hornswoggle is not just limited to the WWE universe. In real life, Vince McMahon and Hornswoggle have a great relationship as well. While discussing the relation with Chris Van Vliet, Hornswoggle recalled the day when Kevin Dunn used a slur against him. Hornswoggle heard a conversation between Dunn and Vince in the back.

He’s a little person.’” He continued, [Dunn’s response] ‘Oh, sorry. Sorry, Vince. Sorry.’ And it was like apology after apology after apology. And they apologized to me, too. It’s like, I don’t care.”

Last year in July, Vince McMahon announced his retirement as the chairman of the WWE. The decision was made following the sexual allegations against him. Stephanie McMahon was announced as co-CEO of the company along with Nick Khan, and Triple H took over as the head of creatives and talent. The company was transitioning to move on from Vince’s era. However, earlier this year, Vince shocked everyone by returning as Executive Chairman.

Following Vince’s return, Stephanie McMahon resigned as the co-CEO of the company. The reason behind her resignation has not yet been reported. However, Triple H still holds creative control. Reportedly, Vince made his return for the sale of the company to potential buyers. Amidst his return, he is facing multiple lawsuits, with more reportedly on the way.

As per the reports, Vince has been working on the deal with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia ever since his retirement. The deal was regarding the sale of the WWE. Reportedly, the discussion about the sale is still going on, and there are multiple potential buyers available.
