Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits have been together, allying in the past few weeks. They have not officially named their faction, but they have made their presence felt on SmackDown and NXT. Therefore, as fans wondered what plans WWE has for the newly formed group, Bobby Lashley made their intentions clear this week on SmackDown.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, Lashley came down to the ring and talked about his union with the Street Profits. He said, “Real recognizes real” and introduced the faction. As a result, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins came down to the ring as the crowd cheered for the team. Lashley then announced that they would challenge for all the gold on the show.
The All-Mighty implicitly hinted that he would challenge for the singles title while the Street Profits would challenge for the tag titles. Following their promo, as they were walking backstage, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens confronted Lashley’s new faction near the ramp.
They started each other momentarily, which could be a subtle tease for a future program between the Undisputed Tag Team Champions and Street Profits. The crowd reacted loudly to this, as a matchup between both factions would be a banger. Therefore, it looks like WWE has big plans for Bobby Lashley’s new faction.
Rumors spread in the beginning that this would be the revamped Hurt Business with MVP and Omos. However, that has not been executed, as the two have been out of action for some time. Additionally, Lashley also teased reintroducing Carmelo Hayes from NXT into the faction, which hyped up the fans.
Street Profits face off with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn
On the latest SmackDown, WWE teased that Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens might have their new opponents. After the promo from Lashley, where he said that the Street Profits would be chasing gold, the champions came out with a huge reaction. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn stood on the entrance ramp, looking ready for Profits.
They had been in a lackluster feud with Judgment Day for the past few weeks, despite defeating them several times. Therefore, fans are longing to see the champions in a fresh feud. On the other hand, Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford had disappeared from the programming for some time. The team has been very popular among fans in the past.
Therefore, they can potentially be the top team on SmackDown with the gold if they defeat Zayn and Owens. Although WWE has not yet announced anything, this match could take place at Fastlane in October. Therefore, fans are on the edge of their seats to witness a clash between the two factions.
