Major update on Drew McIntyre’s WWE status for this week’s Money in the Bank premium-live-event
This Saturday, everything would be answered. The O2 arena in London is where Drew McIntyre is suspected to finally return to WWE.

Apparently, it’s quite gloomy out there between Drew McIntyre and the WWE. Last competing at WrestleMania 39 against Gunther and Sheamus, the Scottish Warrior is nowhere to be found. A lot of factors are responsible for this, which can be jotted down later on. First of all, there has been a significant update on his status for this week’s Money in the Bank Premium-Live-Event.
PWInsider noted behind their paywall that the creative team is working under the notion of a Drew McIntyre return this weekend. However, sources in the company aren’t talking about him yet. Furthermore, there’s no set roadmap for McIntyre’s future plans on Monday Night Raw. And people backstage aren’t buzzing about anything related to Drew McIntyre. That being said, it can all be a work.
Barring contractual negotiations and creative puzzles aside, there are no added grudges between him and the management. The former two-time WWE Champion has been a mainstay in the company for a very long time. In a nutshell, he might hold grudges for never getting that World Title tied around his waist in front of a live audience.
Both of his WWE Championship triumphs came behind closed doors during the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s been over a couple of years since that phase, however, Mr. McIntyre hasn’t been the same. His over-sweetened face gimmick didn’t sit well with the audience, and they kept losing interest in him. Most recently, McIntyre represented WWE as a global ambassador for Special Olympics.
Is Drew McIntyre returning as a heel to WWE?
If McIntyre is really coming back to London this Saturday, it has to be after Seth Rollins’ title match. The Visionary will put his World Heavyweight gold on the line against Finn Balor. In a match that is being promoted as seven years in the making, they’re almost certain to steal the show. However, the finish of the match is where the spices come into effect.
There are endless possibilities for the match’s conclusion. Putting the obvious Judgement Day interference aside, a certain UK native can garner the headlines too. That’s none other than the Glasgow-born Drew McIntyre. He can even screw Rollins through a surprise entrance.
If WWE avoids going that way, they can always have McIntyre return after the match is done and dusted. That would make more sense, in all fairness. Whoever walks out of the O2 arena as the World Heavyweight Champion should automatically fall under the evil side of Drew McIntyre.
