Hulk Hogan is one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling. Without a doubt, he helped the WWE rise to the level it is today. However, this came at the cost of the Hulkster’s health, which has faced numerous issues over the past years. Recently, Hulk Hogan revealed that his back injuries have deteriorated to the point that he considered jumping off a cliff.

While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, he spoke in detail about how much pain he has endured due to several surgeries. According to the former NWO leader, moving without getting “short strokes” in his arms, knees, and back remains difficult. Furthermore, Hogan claimed that even routine work, such as brushing his teeth, was a huge hurdle.

The WWE Hall of Famer has undergone 25 surgeries in the past 12 years. “So I know what it’s like when the doctor goes ‘Here’s your prescription.’ Sometimes, when you’re in such pain after seven, right, nine, ten back surgeries, you’d rather just jump off a cliff than live another day. It’s real easy to fall in that situation. And a lot of other wrestlers who have passed away have fallen into that situation,” Hulk Hogan added.

Hopefully, the legend recovers from his struggles and avoids further surgeries. A couple of weeks ago, Hogan tied the knot with Sky Daily in what was reportedly a small ceremony.

Hulk Hogan reveals he was close to having retirement match against John Cena

Hulk Hogan wrestled in his final match for the WWE at SummerSlam 2006 against Randy Orton. However, this was not the intended “farewell battle” for the legend. Recently, the 70-year-old revealed that there were discussions for him to have his final bout against John Cena.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, the Hulkster stated he was close to wrestling Cena in 2008–2009. “Vince had me all hooked up with Cena, and I said I’d do it. Vince and I were talking every week, and we were putting the plans together, you know,” Hogan said.

However, his back problems would sideline him from competing in the “dream match.” Needless to say, the bout could have been one of the biggest moments in WWE history. Currently, Hulk Hogan is signed to a Legends deal with the Stamford-based promotion.
