WrestleMania has been touted as a pop-culture extravaganza for decades. Over the years, numerous celebrities have graced the biggest pro-wrestling rendezvous. And this year, it might be Paramore’s turn. Former Women’s Champion Bayley, who’s been a longtime fan of the Hayley Williams-led rock band, posted an interesting clip on X.
The Role Model used a four-year-old snippet of a response she received from the American singer. Back in 2020, the WWE Superstar expressed her zeal to see Paramore perform for herself at WrestleMania. However, Bayley knew it wasn’t possible back then. Later that year, Williams, Paramore’s lead vocalist, bestowed her blessings on the ex-Damage CTRL leader and gave her permission to use “Simmer.” It was Hayley’s first solo release.
However, Bayley didn’t end up being on the card at WrestleMania 37. And a year later, she was on the shelf, nursing a torn ACL. But none of that would impede if things were to align in Philadelphia. Going by Bayley’s latest social media ventures, she’s hellbent on having Paramore at The Showcase of the Immortals.
Moreover, yesterday she posted an excerpt from “Where the Lines Overlap,” a song from Paramore’s third album. This led to a section of fans trying to stage a #ParamoreForMania trend for Bayley. It would be interesting to see if the Franklin-based band links up with the former Hugger at WrestleMania XL.
In a way, Bayley does have Hayley Williams’ nod to use her debut solo hit, as the consent dates back to 2020. But an unfortunate turn of events precluded what could’ve been an all-time great entrance for the 34-year-old.
Bayley faces a massive bump in the road en route to WrestleMania next week
As much as she’s pushing for Paramore to play her at WrestleMania, Bayley has a lot to be worried about. Her recent defenestration from Damage CTRL has The Role Model in a fix. She had a silver lining in Dakota Kai, even if Bayley had her back turned on by Iyo Sky and her girls.
However, last week on SmackDown, Dakota also betrayed Bayley. And next Friday, they’re going to battle it out one-on-one. Just days before her women’s title showdown against Iyo Sky at WrestleMania, the former NXT Women’s Champion finds herself in daunting territory.
A loss would be detrimental to the 49ers buff. And with Damage CTRL in full force, Bayley will gather whatever she can to tee off against four of them. It needs to be seen if there’s any backup she can find for herself.
