The calendar year 2023 is nearing its conclusion. In hindsight, this year indeed featured some of the most historic moments, but it also had its share of ups and downs. Some of the most unfortunate events were the shocking demises of Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk, which left a deep void in the hearts of wrestling fans. And now another tragic incident has befallen the industry. WWE star Jade Cargill recently announced the passing of her mother.
Less than 24 hours ago, WWE’s newest signee, Jade Cargill, took to Instagram to confirm the loss of her mother. Big Jade’s mother departed the world after an onerous and prolonged battle with cancer. The 32-year-old coupled her post with an emotional note. In addition, she shared two images that are guaranteed to tug at the reader’s heartstrings.
She uploaded two images, one of which was a picture of herself holding her mother’s hand in her final moments in the hospital. In the second image, she added a photograph of her mother in her younger days. Announcing the tragic demise of her mother, she concluded her poignant post on a brighter note. She noted that she would reunite with her mother later.

On the flip side, Cargill has yet to make her in-ring debut in the Stamford-based promotion. WWE Fastlane marked the debut of Big Jade on WWE television. However, she has been training at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, since then. WWE CCO Triple H also recently shed light on why it is taking so long for Cargill’s anticipated in-ring debut.
Kevin Nash believes Jade Cargill and CM Punk joining WWE could jeopardize the future of AEW
Switching promotions is a common occurrence in the wrestling profession. AEW was at its peak a few years ago, whereas WWE underperformed in all areas, from storylines to viewership. At the time, many WWE stars parted ways with the company and joined AEW.
CM Punk also made his long-awaited wrestling comeback after a seven-year exile in AEW. Jade Cargill, who was seen as an AEW lifer, recently joined the Stamford-based promotion.
Appearing on the latest edition of Kliq This Podcast via Ringside News, WWE Hall of Famer, Kevin Nash, weighed in on top wrestlers, such as Cargill and Punk, leaving AEW. The 64-year-old reflected on the booming phase of AEW when it gave WWE. He further noted that the Stamford-based promotion is back on track with solid weekly programming.
[WWE is] back on bedrock again, the shows are really solid, but you look at it for five years, and there were some points where [AEW] made some runs. … By losing Jade and losing [CM Punk], it’s not gonna [be good].Kevin Nash on Kliq This Podcast
Moreover, the sold-out Raw, SmackDown, and PLE’s are an evident testament to WWE’s thriving phase of business. Meanwhile, the Jacksonville-based company is facing a steep decline in ratings and ticket sales.
He also noted that losing huge names such as CM Punk and Jade Cargill could be detrimental to AEW. In another similar story, a recent report suggests former NXT Champion and AEW star could be returning to WWE.
