Well, Saturday morning gave another hot topic to wrestling fans. As known, Jay White faced Hikuleo at NJPW The New Beginning in a ‘Loser Leaves Japan’ match. And by the time, White has lost the bout. After suffering a chokeslam, the Switchblade was unable to get his shoulders off the mat. Now, as per the stipulation, the New Zealander will be forced to leave New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Last year, a report from Fightful made the rounds on internet about Jay White’s wrestling future moving forward. According to them, the Switchblade himself wanted to compete in the United States on a permanent basis. Staying in Japan wouldn’t have helpful the former IWGP US Champion. So, as it stands, White will soon become an official free agent.
Now, the very natural question that has already been circulating on Twitter ever since Jay lost, what’s next for him? Should he knock Tony Khan’s door or will he try his luck in the Stamford-based WWE headquarters. The aforementioned report from Fightful further noted how WWE sources were confident about landing Jay White in their company, once his NJPW contract is up. Seemingly enough, there’s a growing interest in WWE higher-esques about signing the former NJPW star to their promotion.

Who’d be the first perfect opponent for Jay White in WWE?
It’s just been hours since Jay White lost his career in Japan and fans are already wilding. Many are under the belief that the Switchblade will potentially debut as a surprise at WrestleMania this year. With that being said, everyone now wants his first opponent to be none other than AJ Styles. Both have been a part of the legendary Bullet Club in the past and them sharing the ring in WWE will be something special.
Evidently, Triple H is a huge fan of wrestling glory in Japan. There’s a reason why so many ex-NJPW stars including Finn Balor, AJ Styles and The Good Brothers all came to WWE and became megastars. With Hunter steering the creative wheel, there’s a greater possibility of having a strong push within WWE to ink Jay White on a multi-year deal.
Well, on the other hand, White can possibly go to AEW as well. He’s already worked there and enjoys a good relationship with them. So, at this very moment, it’s really tough to predict as to what would be the ultimate destination of the 30-year old. A lot of teases should be dropped on either programming in the forthcoming weeks, which should be enough to guess which company it is.
