Fastlane 2023 is in the books and shocked the WWE Universe at the very start of the event. The unlikely duo of Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed Tag Team Championship even after numerous hindrances. After Fastlane, a press conference was held to hear from the stars themselves, along with WWE COO Triple H. The newly crowned champions came to answer the questions and saw Main Event Uso speak his heart out with the mention of his brothers.

The conference saw Cody Rhodes answer his quintessential question about ‘finishing the story’. He then jumped upon Uso hilariously and asked, “Jey, Where we at in the story?”. Uso stated that he never thought of winning the titles a second time and that too with Rhodes this time. It makes him feel good knowing that everybody is in their hustle and seeing somebody from the bottom come with you at the same level. He cited this by mentioning his brothers, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa.

“Seeing him wrestle John Cena brings joy to my heart. Solo, joy to my heart!” and praised them for their match. As much as he desires to smack Jimmy in the face, his growth makes him happy. Jey hilariously went back to the question and said, “We are writing the story Uce. We don’t even know the story. It’s just a chapter!”

Jimmy and Solo, representing The Bloodline, were defeated by John Cena and LA Knight in the semi-main event spot of Fastlane. The heel duo dominated for a while while having The Cenation Leader face the wrath. However, Knight’s tag-in brought a revival to the bout and gained the upper hand for the face team. It will be exciting to see Roman Reigns return next week and what he has to say about the current situation of The Bloodline.

Jey Uso states his excitement after winning the tag team gold with Cody Rhodes

The Usos dismantled at SummerSlam with Jimmy Uso’s betrayal of Jey Uso. The hopes for Jey’s future in the tag team division were not leading anywhere due to his singles run. However, at Fastlane 2023, he managed to win the championship gold with Cody Rhodes and stated that he was just equally happy to have done it with him.

During the Fastlane Press Conference, Uso stated, “Who else than the son of Dusty Rhodes? Come on man! I appreciate it all!” Jey revealed that he never thought of it in a million years, though, and now that he is in it, he looks forward to enjoying it. The former Bloodline member mentioned that he was just going along with the story with the audience while referencing Cody’s finishing-the-story motive.

Uso cited it as an example of watching a TV series and thinking about the coming episodes. It is just the same way this story of Jey and Cody will proceed as it goes through now. Main Event Uso was in an extremely playful mood as he celebrated his victory with Cody by saying, “Yeets!” and making it his catchphrase.
