WWE shows are full of twists and turns; they can even lay the foundation stone for a new beginning. It seems the recent one in Montgomery, Alabama, brought good news for the former WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal. The Indian Superstar had been on a massive losing streak of 1870 days that finally came to an end at the event.
Mahal was in action against the One and Only, Ricochet. It was a back-and-forth encounter, which eventually offered The Modern Day Maharaja his latest win. Jinder last tasted victory at a house show on December 7th, 2018 in a Fatal 4-way match against Curt Hawkins, Heath Slater, and Rhyno.

This period of more than 5 years saw Mahal lose over 60 matches. Had it not been for his injury hiatuses, the numbers could’ve been much higher. In any case, Jinder Mahal has had a stellar start to 2024. He not only stood toe-to-toe against The Rock at Day 1 but also wrestled Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins for the World Heavyweight Title on last week’s Raw.
Despite his efforts, which even involved a major distraction by Indus Sher, Mahal couldn’t overcome the tenacious Visionary. With back-to-back, three major weeks into 2024, fans are eagerly waiting for what creative has in store for The Modern Day Maharaja.
Matt Hardy expresses his thoughts on the recent push of Jinder Mahal
The recent push of Jinder Mahal in WWE has been a big surprise to fans and wrestlers alike. The talks even percolated to the rival promotion, AEW, when Tony Khan got involved in it. It seems former WWE Superstar and one-half of Team Xtreme, Matt Hardy, had some words of praise for Mahal. Here’s what he said in his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy Podcast:

I thought he really had the ability to pi*s people off in the most authentic way possible... I am not a Jinder hinderer.Matt Hardy on Jinder Mahal
Hardy acknowledged his respect for the work of Mahal as someone who understands professional wrestling. Though he did find his reign as the WWE Champion rushed, he didn’t mind what was presented. The 49-year-old even appreciated the idea of the WWE creative seeing him as a worthy heel to be pushed.
Despite their lengthy careers, Mahal and Hardy never came face-to-face in the ring. The only time they shared a ring together was during battle royals like the Andre The Giant Memorial or the one at Super ShowDown 2019.ย
