The Greatest of All Time John Cena is the most loved WWE superstar. Originating from the wrestling scene, The Cenation Leader went on to become a Hollywood sensation too. It was his charismatic presence and exceptional soft skills that made him achieve grand success. But while purely looking at Cena’s persona in WWE, its development, ups, and downs, all show a resemblance to DC’s Superman.

During Impaulsive podcast with Logan Paul, Cena defined himself as Superman. The explanation later came in the form of his evolution, which has made his WWE existence have highs and lows. Superman did not intend to show his strength or be speedy, but he resembled pure virtues and moral codes. The use of this goodness affects his overall body language and helps him perform better in the ring.

Over the years, there has been a difference in Superman. John recalled that in 2011, people wanted CM Punk to win the WWE Championship because they were sick of Cena (Superman). He states that the problem of Superman’s too-goodness forever affects him. In 2024, he sees himself at a crossroads, where a fairly older Superman is looking in the mirror and figuring out what he is now.

I mean Superman acts with pure virtue uh Superman has a moral code; Superman can be conflicted but when he's conflicted his north star is his moral code and his virtues. It affects the body language it affects your delivery it's why uh you spoke you're like 'Man I don't know when you're off script when you're on script' neither do I.
John Cena about his Superman resemblance

Coming from the Doctor of Thuganomics heel persona, a slow burn into the virtuous Superman was challenging for him. Cena had fun as the dynamics that ran with his evolution caught the people off-guard. John is now in a place where he has not won a singles match for more than 2000 days, as his aging body has hit him hard. His recent loss against Solo Sikoa was disheartening for the fans.

John Cena lays down the timeline for his WWE retirement

In the same Impaulsive podcast, John Cena talked about his wish to retire. While fans are speculating his return in the coming months, The Cenation Leader has already thought of stepping down in a few years. He clarified that his career is not over yet, but he is close to doing so and getting officially done with WWE.

In between, Cena lauded Logan Paul and mentioned that he feels retirement even stronger after seeing him. He cited The Maverick on behalf of the other WWE talents and would prefer to take a step back and witness them. John even mentioned the skillful nature and crispness of the current product.

I hope so; I am not officially done. I know that I'm close. I can feel it. You can tell like especially seeing you out there doing incredible stuff.
John Cena about his retirement plans

The 16-time world champion is at this point where he is seeing his career end approaching at the rate of knots. On the other hand, he is exclaimed by the fact that the graph is lowering for him. Cena concluded by saying that he was not done, but he needed to decide soon when to get done!
