John Cena Breaks Silence on If He Watches WWE’s Rival Company, AEW

The world knows John Cena as the face of WWE, and rightly so. But these days, he isn’t a regular attraction on WWE shows, as his Hollywood career is slowly taking flight. Despite his busy schedule, John Cena has promised fans he will return to the ring, and even assured them he keeps up with the current product, including AEW.

The former WWE Champion has posted pictures of several AEW wrestlers such as Max Caster and more on his Instagram. This has led to fans wondering if Cena watches AEW, and finally, it seems like we have an answer to the question. During an interview with Fightful, Cena was asked if he watches AEW, to which, he instantly responded with denial.

John Cena implied that internal competition already fueled him in WWE. But with AEW coming into the picture, he said that it raises the stakes for him to get much better, to deliver his best.

John Cena stated, “I was fueled by a sense of internal competition. Not knowing what it’s like now to be in a market with a lot of different options, there are a lot of places to watch sports entertainment. That would only, for me, fuel me even more to be the best I can be”

John Cena returning to WWE at WrestleMania as the event goes to Hollywood

John Cena has earned quite the reputation for himself through his two-decade long WWE career. However, his WWE appearances have lessened in recent years. In fact, 2022 was the first year in his 20-year-career, where he did not compete inside the squared circle, in any capacity.

While Cena did not wrestle in 2022, he definitely will wrestle in 2023. After all, WrestleMania is in Hollywood next year and he wouldn’t want to miss out on the ‘Show of Shows!’
