The Greatest Of All Time John Cena had quite a memorable year in WWE. The Cenation Leader appeared on numerous shows and helped build several stars before departing. Most notably, he lost against Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel, with rumors floating of Cena’s retirement. However, the sixteen-time World Champion has put that speculation to rest.

During the December 29 edition of SmackDown, John Cena expressed his gratitude to the WWE Universe for a stellar 2023. Furthermore, he proceeded to talk about his two-month run on the Blue brand. The legend revealed that he doesn’t know how much time he has left in his wrestling career. However, Cena was relieved that fans have always welcomed him back with open arms.

The future HOF’er will definitely return to the squared circle in the foreseeable future. While there is no exact timeline set for it, the excitement generated around John Cena’s appearance is always unfathomable. The Franchise Player’s most recent run had plenty of thrilling segments and matches. Without a doubt, he played a major role in elevating LA Knight to main-event status.

With the road to WrestleMania 40 already shaping up, Cena showing up at some point will certainly add intrigue to the build. The WWE Universe has yearned to see him interact with the CM Punk since the latter’s shocking return to WWE. After all, the pair had arguably one of the greatest rivalries in the company’s history.

For quite a while, John Cena was labeled a “polarizing” figure in WWE. After achieving success in 2005, when he became WWE Champion and remained at the top for the whole year, fans started to slowly turn on the Franchise Player. Without a doubt, Cena faced one of the most vocal audiences in wrestling at ECW: One Night Stand 2006.

The Cenation Leader recently recalled his match against Rob Van Dam for the WWE Championship at the event. First, John Cena mentioned that he knew prior to the bout that the atmosphere was always going to be hostile. Furthermore, he put over RVD, stating that the ECW Original showcased his in-ring talent against him. 

Cena recalled the ending where his rival, Edge, speared him through the table, costing him the title as well. The pair would go on to have one of the best rivalries of that year. Needless to say, the Hammerstein Ballroom will always remain an iconic venue for WWE.
