For more than a decade, John Cena posed as the face of WWE. As such, the Franchise Player has gained respect and admiration from not only fans but also stars in the pro wrestling industry. Recently, Kenny Omega jumped on the bandwagon and expressed his appreciation for the sixteen-time world champion. Now, Cena has reacted to the former AEW World Champion’s comments.

The Cenation Leader posted an image of Kenny Omega on his Instagram page, seemingly to show his gratitude for him. The AEW wrestler claimed that Cena is the epitome of what the top star of a company should be like. Further, he revealed that he was a “very big proponent” of the WWE legend. As usual, Cena didn’t write a caption on his post, as is the point of his Instagram account. However, it didn’t take fans too much time to figure out the context behind it.

John Cena‘s run as the poster boy for the company changed the perception of what a star of his caliber presents themselves as. From granting a record-setting 650 wishes for the Make-A-Wish foundation to his selfless attitude, it is no surprise that many hold him in high regard. In fact, it paved the way for stars such as Cody Rhodes, who has shown success in sticking to similar mannerisms.

The 46-year-old has been a busy man since the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike. Despite that, Cena did recently mention that he might be available during the upcoming WrestleMania weekend. Moreover, reports have indicated that the promotion does intend on involving him in some capacity. Therefore, fans have speculated that the future Hall of Famer may end up becoming the host for this year’s event.

In 2018–19, Elias was one of the hottest acts on the main roster. His concerts would garner a lot of heat from fans. Therefore, it didn’t come as a surprise to many when he revealed that he was slated to face John Cena at WrestleMania 35.

During an appearance on For The Love Of Wrestling, the 36-year-old opened up about his WWE career. While he did end up in a segment with the Doctor of Thuganomics, Elias claimed that he was supposed to wrestle Cena. However, the Franchise Player’s Hollywood commitments supposedly led to a change of plans.

Elias did state that he was happy to work with the sixteen-time world champion either way. Things got better for him the next night when he was involved in another segment involving a legend, The Undertaker. The Drifter was among the dozen superstars who were furloughed amid the WWE-UFC merger. Since then, he has changed his in-ring name to Elijah and has appeared on the independent circuit.
