But when you look back to where this legendary journey started off, you might remember that Smackdown in 2002 where the young John Cena confronted Kurt Angle and made his WWE debut against him on June 27th . Angle picked up a mic and started insulting off a young Cena in front of the live audience to which Cena said only two words in response – “Ruthless Aggression” and punched him right into the face following that. Although then, John lost his debut match against Kurt, he displayed a fight before going down to get pinned by Angle.

It’s surreal and it all happened so fast [match with Kurt Angle and shaking hands with The Undertaker]. It wasn’t even supposed to happen. I was thrown in there last minute because they had no other options.

It was all like a blur but I remember I was ready to wrestle Kurt and he brought, technically the best out of me and forced me — he tried to run me ragged but I hung in there with him and yes, they filmed backstage moments of other superstars shaking hands there because it was genuine.”
