The 16-time World Champion, John Cena, has been riding high ever since his full-time return to WWE in early September. The Peacemaker star teamed up with LA Knight to take on The Bloodline at Fastlane. In the post-show press conference, John Cena answered a few questions and admitted that his last run in WWE is approaching soon.
During the press conference, the Cenation Leader was asked when his last run in WWE. Replying to this, he said, “I’m 46. I’ve told everybody this ain’t the last one, but I know that the last one is on the horizon, I’ve always promised that I don’t ever want to offend the WWE Universe with the effort I put out there, and I’m still trying to give all I got, but I got to work out some tweaks and find the mojo somewhere.”
The Cenation Leader explained that this would not be the last time fans saw him in WWE. However, he poignantly stated that his final run is on the horizon. John Cena further stated that he is still trying to give his best in his matches. Nevertheless, he doesn’t want to disappoint the WWE Universe with below-par performances.
The WWE veteran further added that he would likely decamp to Hollywood as soon as the SAG-AFTRA strike comes to an end. Until then, he intends to find his zeal back and exceed the fans’ expectations. As of now, John Cena is slated to appear on SmackDown until October 27. Fans will have to wait and see what the Peacemaker star has in store for the WWE Universe.
Triple H urges the fans to bask in the stellar presence of John Cena as long as he is in WWE
John Cena returned to WWE programming on the September 1 edition of SmackDown. This is the first-time, in almost half a decade, that he is committing himself to a full time run. Recently, the Franchise Player expressed his skepticism about his future in the company. Now, WWE CCO Triple H has commented about Cena’s impending in-ring retirement.
Speaking at the post-event media conference, Triple H said that he is aware of the reason why John Cena has been talking about his retirement lately. The Cerebral Assassin went on to praise the Cenation Leader for everything he has done and has been doing. Moreover, Triple H told fans to enjoy his presence as long as he is here.
“I would just say this to everyone out there, revel in it, I know I am because the appreciation level that John should get is of the charts. When he’s here, don’t criticize it, don’t over think it, just enjoy it, because it won’t last forever and we all need to understand that,” he said.
The Game stated that he understands where Cena’s uncertainty regarding his WWE career is coming from. He also added that people should understand what John Cena means to this industry. The 54-year-old urged the fans to cut some slack on the Cenation Leader and appreciate his presence as long as he is here in WWE. Indeed, the WWE Universe will be devastated the day he decides to retire and sail off into the sunset.
