After over half a decade, John Cena is returning to WWE for two consecutive months. Starting with this week’s SmackDown, the 46-year-old will appear on the blue brand throughout September and October, except for the one in Boston. Also, he’ll compete for the first time in India at the Superstar Spectacle.

WrestleVotes announced that John Cena will join forces with Seth Rollins to battle Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci. However, it seems Cena is doing more. WrestleVotes reported on X that the legendary wrestler will appear in this weekend’s WWE Payback as well. Now, discussions are ongoing about him serving as the host of the event in Pittsburgh. This unexpected news has left fans in awe.

Of course, John Cena’s WWE return at this point has to do with the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Amid an embroiling dispute, The Franchise Player has decided to spend some quality time with the WWE Universe. For what it’s worth, the 16-time World Champion has proven over and over again that he breathes for his fans and, more importantly, his family in WWE.

Since John Cena will be back full-time for the next two months, he has to be involved in a feud. There are various faces on the blue brand who could catch the ire of The Cenation Leader. That said, Grayson Waller has already expressed his opinion on John’s return. According to the Aussie Icon, the Peacemaker star is eager to get a Grayson Waller rub yet again. He’s likely to trade barbs with Cena.

John Cena’s sacrifice for Austin Theory has gone nowhere

This year at WrestleMania, John Cena went down against Austin Theory in an underwhelming affair. It was clear that WWE was trying to get Theory over. However, forcing a win over Cena did nothing for the 26-year-old. Almost five months later, the former United States champion finds himself in a stagnant position.

He will face Rey Mysterio for the United States title at WWE Payback. However, Theory has failed to capture the audience’s interest in him. The wrestler-turned-actor did everything in his power to make Austin Theory realize his potential. But that hasn’t happened yet.

Something’s not clicking as far as his current run is concerned. John was right when he said that Theory might win the day at WrestleMania; however, he’d lose everything after that. The former US Champion needs to have some introspection before expecting the fans to care for his stuff.
