“Love him like a brother,” Kenny Omega addresses his experience working with top SmackDown Superstar in the past
Kenny Omega has been a prominent wrestling figure, working with different promotions over the years, and he recently opened up on his familiarity with the former NXT champion way before.

Kenny Omega has made a name for himself in several wrestling promotions around the world. He tasted success during his time in NJPW and multiple independent wrestling promotions. Omega also had the opportunity to work with various big stars in wrestling today, since they were rookies in the industry. The former member of Bullet Club was one of the first wrestlers to be signed by AEW in 2019. He is currently under the AEW contract, working for Tony Khan.
Kenny Omega has also been in the ring with Sami Zayn, probably the hottest act in wrestling today. During a recent edition of “The Sessions with Renee Paquette,” Omega recalled the days when he and Sami used to be inside the squared circle together.
“I love him like a brother,” Omega referred to Zayn. “My greatest dormitory experience, and possibly my greatest experiences ever just in wrestling, was being able to kind of dorm with him in Japan. … It was hanging out during the days, doing the matches at the nights. And then just kind of sitting and chilling and watching old 80s [and] 90s action movies,” he added.
Omega also praised Sami, saying that he now has the opportunity to show the world how much talent he wndows. Outside of wrestling, Kenny lauded Zayn regarding the charity work he has been doing, calling it work for a great cause. He also stated that charity work is just another way for Sami to make the world a better place.

Last time Kenny Omega and Sami Zayn faced off
Back in 2012, Kenny Omega and Sami Zayn used to wrestle for the Japan-based promotion DDT Pro-Wrestling. Zayn was known as “El Generico” back then. Generico and Omega had numerous bouts during their time in DDT in Japan and PWG in the United States as well. They also wrestled together as a tag team back then.
Omega also mentioned in the interview that he is proud of the matches he had with Zayn. The two last squared off against each other at DDT in 2012. In the match, Kenny defeated Generico (Sami) to win the KO-D Open-weight Championship.
Previously, Omega claimed Generico or Zayn to be the person he used to take ideas from. He also said that prior to The Young Bucks, Sami was the closest to him, like a brother.
