“Man, I don’t wanna be like Dolph”: Kevin Owens does not want to follow in the footsteps of Dolph Ziggler
Kevin Owens and Dolph Ziggler face to face
Dolph Ziggler has been the name in this industry which has secured a prominent position from a fairly long time. From the day he debuted in WWE, which was long back in 2004, he has been serving the company diligently and showcased some spectacular feats in these years. He has also passed through many trials and turbulations in this long journey too. But the wrestling fans have been very sceptical about Dolph Ziggler over these years.
For some fans, Dolph Ziggler is one of the best things that has happened to this company. He is super talented and surely gifted to perform so many unthinkable feats in the ring. As his name goes, The ‘Show Off’ has really brought forward various achievements the audience couldn’t even think of.
Kevin Owens appeared on Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast, where he discussed the fact that he has so much of respect towards Dolph Ziggler. But he doesn’t want to end up in the industry like him when it comes to taking up new challenges and opportunities. Kevin Owens has also praised Ziggler regarding one of his promos in NXT through text messages. He added:
“He’s a guy I respect a ton. I am not sure if I have told him this, but he is definitely one of those people that I would look at and think, ‘Man, I don’t wanna be like Dolph.’ In the sense that Ziggler is so good, and I would have seen him so frustrated because he was doing so much better, and he was right. This was 2015, 2016. I was like, ‘I don’t wanna be like that. I wanna come to work and I don’t wanna be frustrated all the time. ‘But guess what? When you’re passionate and hungry and you know what you’re good at, it’s inevitable. It’s gonna happen to everybody.”
Kevin Owens is willing to face Roman Reigns in a live event soon
It was in the ThunderDome era in WWE, when Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns had been going through a feud for the WWE Universal championship. Between December 2020 and January 2021, he wrestled Roman Reigns three times on three different occasions and scenario, the last one being at the Royal Rumble last year, where he was overpowered by Reigns in a Last Man Standing match. Kevin Owens addressed Corey Graves’ After The Bell podcast that he wants to re-enact his rivalry with Roman Reigns anytime soon in front of a live audience.
“There is always Roman. I feel like Roman and I have unfinished business, and I think what we did at the beginning of last year in the ThunderDome in front of no audience really had people talking. I simply can’t even begin to imagine what we could do in front of full buildings together.” Kevin Owens remarked.
