Kevin Owens became emotional upon seeing Zayn wrestle at Wrestlemania 38
Shorty after happening, Sami Zayn Vs. Johnny Knoxville became one of the most entertaining matches in the 38 year history of Wrestlemania. The match received high praise for it’s unique and inventive nature. The use of weird props and weapons plus the involvement of fellow Jackass crew members during the whole thing also added to the match.
Former Universal Champion Kevin Owens recently expressed his thoughts on watching his buddy Sami Zayn wrestle against Knoxville at this year’s Mania. Kevin and Sami have been long-term best friends. Both have worked tirelessly to reach the current positions they’re in right now in WWE. Before arriving on the scene in WWE, both spent several years of the career wrestling on independent circuits too.
Owens recently appeared on After the Bell podcast and said the following things about Sami and his Wrestlemania match against Knoxville –
“This is gonna sound really corny but when Wee Man came out from under the ring and started beating the s**t out of Sami, I got emotional at the reaction. It was so good. People were so happy and I know how hard he works, Sami worked for all of this. He had to fight to get it on the show and then he had to fight to make it good because Johnny Knoxville is amazing, all those guys were incredible, but man, they don’t turn up, they’re not restless, he worked so hard to make that happen,” Kevin Owens said. “If I was in any other situation for WrestleMania than the one I’m in, I would be extremely jealous!” Owens added: “I love the Jackass movies, I’ve always loved them, I’ve been a fan of Johnny Knoxville for a long time. The fact that Sami gets to do this with him is so awesome.” H/T Metro
