Royal Rumble 2024 has been delivering matches with high-levels of action and entertainment. The third match in the line involved the defence of the United States Championship. It was a hard-hitting bout between the 28-year-old, Logan Paul and the Prizefighter, Kevin Owens.

Right from the time of the announcement, Owens looked focused as he was staring hole in the Maverick. Who would’ve predicted that an out-of-the-box trick of handing the brass knuckles would cost him his opportunity? The battle began with a lot of back and forth between the two, where they didn’t fear getting dirtier outside the ring. As always, Paul amazed the audience by showing his high-flying prowess.

What also stood out was the YouTuber-turned-wrestler strictly targeted the former Universal Champion’s injured hand. Though a much seasoned veteran like Owens remained aware of such a strategy, his pride seems to have gotten in the way. It was a display of tenacity from the Prizefighter who’d go on to deliver a frenzy of offence. The match also had it’s fair share of underhand business. The despised duo of Austin Theory and Grayson Waller even made their way down to ensure the victory of Paul.

The animosity between the two has ran so deep that they even brawled in the Performance Center. It was an opportunity for which Owens had scratched and clawed for weeks on the Blue brand. Hence, the situation created justified why Owen’s eventually “ticked off” in the words of Michael Cole.

The Prizefighter was invested a lot in his recent opportunity of grabbing his first singles title since ruling the tag team division. With the Prizefighter going strong throughout the US Title Tournament on the Blue brand, many fans believed the day of seeing Logan Paul dethroned wasn’t far. However, the match ending at Royal Rumble 2024 left everyone with their jaws hanging.

Deeply disheartened and highly infuriated, fans witnessed the vintage Kevin Owens. The former Universal Champion would go on to ram the Maverick on steel steps and unleash his vicious side. The entire post-match affair would go on to end in a massive pop-up powerbomb on the announce table.

It felt equivalent to poetic justice as despite winning with underhand means, Paul had to eventually taste the dirt. Meanwhile, despite his loss Owens ultimately got to stand tall and look down on the highly-talented United States Champion.
