“He can’t follow the rules”- Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston says Butch can’t follow the rules of the game –
Kofi Kingston getting victimed by Butch on Smackdown.
Former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston doesn’t think Butch can play the game fair enough and follow it’s rules. As recently seen on WWE Smackdown, the rivalry between the members of the New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and the despicable trio of Sheamus, Ridge Holland and the recent NXT Uk call-up Butch (formerly Pete Dunne) has been growing badly.
They’ve been feuding for weeks now. At Wrestlemania 38, Sheamus and Ridge Holland defeated Kofi Kingston and Woods in a very short match.
WWE is portraying Butch to be an uncontrollable sychopath who can’t keep himself under control in situations as he is seen to be continuously pushed back by Sheamus and Holland during recent episodes of Smackdown.
On the latest edition of Smackdown, Xavier Woods defeated Butch via a surprise roll-up pinfall after which Butch was seen in absolute disbelief and anger. He jumped off the barricades and went away from the arena through the WWE universe.
After Smackdown, former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston was interviewed on the Talking Smack by WWE correspondent Megan Morant and while he praised Butch’s in-ring abilities he also said that the former NXT UK champion can’t follow the rules of a match.
Here’s what he exactly said about him –
“Now, look, look, look, Butch is not trash. He’s actually very good. But his attitude is garbage, trash. He can’t follow the rules. He can’t control himself and now he’s going to throw a tantrum because he lost the match. ‘I’m so mad that I lost.’ That’s how it goes. It’s a new season like we told you and your boys are what? Undefeated!” (From 3:40 – 4:01)
Butch aka Pete Dunne is a former NXT UK Champion –
Prior to coming on the WWE main-roster Butch was a former NXT UK champion. He was better known as ‘The Bruiserweight’.
Dunne is best known for his work in NXT UK where he held the NXT UK Championship for 685 days before losing it to Gunther at NXT Takeover: New York in 2019. He is also a 2020 Dusty Rhodes classic winner alongside Riddle. Before joining WWE Dunne performed in several independent circuits such as Destiny World Wrestling (DWW), Insane Championship Wrestling, Michinoku Pro-Wrestling, Over the Top Wrestling, Pro-Wrestling Guerrilla etc.
Pete Dunne (now Butch) was recently called-up on Smackdown and was handed an immediate name change in the form of Butch.
Butch can become a great attraction on the WWE Television if he’s given the correct direction by the WWE lead-writers. We’ll find out more in the coming weeks about how’s he gonna get booked on the main-roster after having such a dominant run in NXT UK.
