In his 14-year professional wrestling career, Kofi Kingston has faced numerous significant superstars and has been a professional WWE talent since 2008. WWE Triple-Crown and Grand Slam titles are in Kingston’s rooster.Kingston and Xavier Woods got into a fight when the Viking Riders attacked The New Day on Smackdown. The New day previously went against the Brawling Brutes (Butch, Rage Holland, and Sheamus).
When a talent unexpectedly appears in a promotion while signed to another, it is known as the “Forbidden Door” in professional wrestling. The most recent event occurred on June 26 when All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling jointly announced a pay-per-view with the same name that would feature talent from both organizations in a dream bout.
Forbidden Door bringing in new opportunities
On Instagram, Kingston recently spoke with Sebastian Hackl for WWE Deutschland about his long career, travel obstacles, and favorite video games. When asked about his bucket list, the performer then mentioned the chance of the Forbidden Door being open.
“Yeah, I mean there’s a lot, I think more so now. Well, you know, since Mickie James came to the Rumble right, the quote-on-quote ‘Forbidden Door, that was never to be talked about, was opened. So, there’s a lot of different people from a lot of different promotions that are incredibly talented that I would love to mix it up with and have matches with for sure.”
WWE has recently reached an agreement with IMPACT Wrestling for Mickie James to perform in the 30-woman match at the next Royal Rumble pay-per-view. When asked about other competitors the former WWE Champion would like to spar with, Kingston mentioned many NXT athletes.
“Carmelo Hayes, Trick Williams, there’s so many people. Even Roderick Strong down there, Bron Breakker’s coming up. There’s so many people that are just so incredibly talented and I’m looking forward to seeing that next crop and that next-generation just kind of creep up, and anything I can do to assist them in achieving some success while at the same time getting to mix it up with these young guys, and Brett Favre — see if I still got it.” said Kingston.
In previous years, WWE has mainly avoided collaborating with other professional wrestling outfits. However, The New Day’s match against The Elite in Street Fighter V at E3 2018 marked one of the few occasions where WWE Superstars interacted with performers from other sports.
