Kurt Angle won the Olympic Gold medal with a broken freakin neck, this line has been inscribed on every stone by now. He last competed in his farewell match against Baron Corbin at Wrestlemania 35. Many would feel that what was done at Mania wasn’t the wisest of decisions to cap off such a legendary career.
However, we do know that even after officially retiring, Angle kept his wrestling ambitious alive. After shredding extra mass and getting himself surgically perfect, the WWE Hall of Famer once again made himself open to wrestling ventures. The legend would openly state that he’s willing to work for both promotions including WWE and AEW.
The case for WWE was shut when he was asked to become an on-screen manager for Matt Riddle. Whereas, the AEW talks which were also held simultaneously hold more juices. The contract offered to the wrestling icon included a multi-year deal having 10 matches on the plate. That would ask Kurt Angle to tango in the ring, thrice in a year.
Kurt recently revealed the amount he put up against the offer in front of Tony Khan. While speaking on the Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic Gold medalist confirmed that he received offers from both promotions and that his wrestling return would account for more financially. He then disclosed that his demand to wrestle for AEW included charging $300,000 per match.
“Well, to even consider coming back, it’s going to have to be a substantial amount of money. I do remember, Tony Khan wanted me to come in and wrestle for him. This was like 4 years ago, and I said, ‘For 10 matches, I want $3 million.”

We all saw John Cena grow up from being a street rapper transform into potentially the greatest of all-time. The journey of a million miles started on the June 27, 2002 episode of SmackDown, Cena made his WWE debut against Kurt Angle. The former interrupted Kurt Angle accepting his open challenge.
As per the internal belief, Angle wanted to face the Cenation Leader in his retirement match at Wrestlemania 35. However, Vince McMahon never actually approved the idea and asked Kurt Angle to wait for 1 more year, had he wanted to get his wish fulfilled.
