Kurt Angle in WWE

One of the most prominent wrestlers of the WWE’s Attitude Era is Kurt Angle. Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Kurt has held the title multiple times. Kurt is also among the best illustrations of how an Olympic wrestler can progress to become a WWE megastar.

Even John Cena, the sixteen-time WWE Champion and potential face of the company, made his start with Kurt’s assistance. He even came back to WWE for a second Legends run, but that turned out to be an absolute failure because it did nothing to elevate his famous career and was instead simply a very ordinary run.

Kurt Angle thinking of a third run

Kurt Angle is considering making a third try in the business because the second attempt was a complete failure. Throughout the tenure, he failed to win a single championship and lacked any significant rivalries with other WWE legends. He continued to have petty disputes with people like Baron Corbin, who was also his last adversary.

Kurt’s final match at WrestleMania was against Baron Corbin, and it was a subpar match that looked much worse due to the lacklustre booking. The match was more akin to a TV match than a WrestleMania match. Everyone became even more dejected when Baron Corbin emerged victorious from the match.

When Kurt was recently questioned about who he would like to compete against if he ever made a comeback to the company, he responded with a very outlandish statement, stating that if he ever got a match with John Cena, Roman Reigns, or Seth Rollins, then and only then would he consider making a comeback in the WWE ring.

Kurt Angle added that John Cena is one of the names since the other two are wrestlers who are in the prime of their careers, whereas John Cena’s prime has never ended and is not about to anytime soon. I want to fight a wrestler who is in the prime of his career.

“John, I still think that he is possibly still in his prime. So I would say John Cena,” Kurt Angle said. “And the reason for that is, I’m 53 years old. I’m not the same athlete I was when I was 33. And when I decided to retire, it was because I lost a step. Knowing that John’s still in his prime, I know that he can carry me through a match. (…) I’d want a Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins, or even a John Cena. Those are the names that I would pick because I know those guys would carry me through the match.”
