Needless to say, some of the most iconic rivalries come to mind when fans look back on the WWE in the mid-2000s. However, even the supposed “good old days” had some absurd storylines. The company produced one such storyline with WWE Hall of Famers Kurt Angle, Booker T, and his wife Sharmell. Booker T recently admitted that his wife enjoyed the storyline with Angle.

In 2005, WWE came up with one of its most repulsive storylines ever. It saw Kurt Angle in a frenzied avatar being overly obsessed with Booker T’s wife, Sharmell. Speaking of the storyline, the latter recently revealed that he and his wife, Sharmell, enjoyed working on the infamous storyline with Angle. He even went on to say that his wife loved being stalked by the Wrestling Machine.

We didn't get a chance to really finish it like we wanted to. But, no, man, that was a great time for me. And working with Kurt at that time, I think both of us can attest that the fans were loving what was going on at that time. [33:14-33:51]

Furthermore, he added that he and his wife enjoyed being a part of this storyline. He went on to heap praise on Angle by stating that the latter did a convincing job of portraying an obsessive stalker. On the contrary, Kurt Angle considers his feud with Booker T as the worst storyline of his career

Kurt Angle’s obsessive stalker angle with Booker T and his wife, Sharmell, was arguably one of the most controversial storylines in WWE. The 54-year-old is often praised for his exceptional portrayal of the deranged stalker persona. However, the Hall of Famer himself is not a fan of the bizarre storyline.

A few years ago, the Wrestling Machine did an “Ask Kurt Anything” session on The Kurt Angle Show. During the Q&A session via Wrestling News, the Hall of Famer faced the question about his opinion about his stalker angle with Booker and his wife. Responding to the question, he admitted to not enjoying doing this particular angle. He went as far as calling it the worst angle of his career.

I think Vince thought I had this fetish for black women and he thought it would be a funny program. I was not comfortable by any means. I had so much respect for Booker T and Sharmell. To do that and pretend I was stalking his wife, it was the worst angle I have ever done. It was the worst storyline I’ve ever done.

The 54-year-old stated he has immense respect for Booker T and Sharmell. Thus, working at an angle where he was stalking his wife was quite uncomfortable for him. He also alleged that Vince McMahon assumed that the Hall of Famer had a fetish for black women. As a result of this, McMahon came up with such a storyline, per Angle.
