The biggest news in the wrestling industry this week came from Impact Wrestling, as they announced that they are going back to being called TNA. As TNA, the company was a direct competitor to WWE, and fans have multiple fond memories of the company. Therefore, fans are recalling the moment from 2018, when WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle suggested Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn go to TNA following the two getting fired from WWE.
At WrestleMania 34, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn lost to Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan, as a result of which they lost their jobs. Therefore, the following week, the two tried to talk to the then-Raw GM, Kurt Angle. However, Angle slammed the two with rejection and even suggested that they go to TNA.

This was the first time that WWE had directly acknowledged TNA. Therefore, fans on the internet had gone berserk at the time due to Angle’s remarks. Interestingly, after leaving WWE in 2006, the Olympic medalist jumped to TNA to have a lengthy and successful run with the company. Kurt Angle was the inaugural heavyweight champion for the company.

He held the title a total of six times during his time at the company. Apart from that, Angle became the second TNA Triple Crown champion. Inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame in 2013, he was only the second-ever inductee after Sting. Therefore, the sarcastic comment coming from Kurt Angle had additional weight behind it.
