“I’m not gonna LIE to you”- Kurt Angle gives an update on whether he plans to wrestle again

Kurt Angle in WWE
Kurt angle is one of the greatest wrestlers ever to have graced the squared circle. Kurt Angle returned to WWE in 2017 and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the same year. Angle then appeared as the RAW General Manager and wrestled in some few matches, the most well-known of which was the mixed Tag team match at WrestleMania 34, where he teamed up with Ronda Rousey and defeated the team of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Kurt Angle fought his last match of his second run in WWE against Baron Corbin at WrestleMania 35, which he lost.
Kurt Angle then took up the backstage role of a producer and appeared in some segments, most notably the RAW reunion. He was released from WWE in April 2020 as a part of budget cuts. After his release, he appeared once on an edition of NXT as a special guest referee in a steel Cage match between Riddle and Timothy Thatcher and thereafter made his final appearance on an edition of SmackDown to introduce Riddle. Angle was offered a contract by WWE, but he declined the offer stating that he wants to concentrate on his Health and Nutrition Business.
Kurt Angle revealed that he never wanted Happy Corbin to be the man to retire him

During a Q & A session with the Pro wrestling Junkies, Kurt Angle expressed his disappointment of wrestling Happy Corbin in his last Match. Angle stated that he had told Vince McMahon that he wanted to wrestle John Cena, as he had started Cena’s career and he wanted John Cena to end his. Angle said that Vince told him that he would have to go with Corbin and that if he wants to wrestle John then he would have to wait until next year, Kurt didn’t want to wait for another year.
Kurt Angle said that though Corbin is a good athlete and a hard worker, the type of character he was at that time wasn’t of the level where WWE Hall of Famers would feel comfortable with. Kurt Angle stated that he had a great time working with Corbin, just that he didn’t feel that Happy Corbin was the right person to retire him and that John Cena was the right person to retire him as it made sense.
During the latest edition of Gold Medal Q&A w/ Kurt Angle, Angle spoke about the possibility of his in-ring return. Kurt Angle claimed that although he occasionally considers entering the ring, he recently underwent knee replacement surgery and is now unable to do so. He said that he would not rule anything out. Even though he has occasionally declared himself retired, there remains a potential that he might make one more appearance in the ring.
“I’m not gonna lie to you. [The thought of a return] comes across my mind here and there every once in a while, but I just had knee replacements. I’m in no position to think about wrestling right now. It’s been two and a half months since I had my knees replaced. Both at the same time. It’s a little rough doing both of them at the same time. But you know what I’m not gonna count out anything. I’ve told so many reporters and people from the news that I was done but there is a chance that I might end up coming back. I don’t know when, but it’ll probably be for one last match.”
Kurt Angle stopped wrestling full time after his stint in TNA, he has since then wrestled sporadically and wrestled in a promotion which had a lighter schedule. The severe nature of Kurt Angle’s pro wrestling profession has led to daily agony, which he overcomes by keeping his body in good condition through various exercises. He says he won’t use painkillers again since he doesn’t want to relapse into addiction.
