LA Knight is one of the hottest wrestlers in WWE at this point. Since his main roster debut, he has been making heads turn with his over-the-top mic skills and old-school persona. He was recently a part of Chris Van Vliet’s Insight Show where he talked at length about his career.
During the conversation, Vliet asked him about working with the A-Lister, The Miz. The Megastar started with how their performance, especially the promo, was received well by everyone backstage. However, deep inside, he felt it was one of his worst due to it being planned and then executed.

In some ways, he felt betrayed by his way of doing things. Yet, it aided him in mending his old-school style for the better. To quote him:
Coincidently, it was the worst work I had done in a while. God, I hate pulling the curtain back a lot but, I like to be off the cuff and just listen and then react. In this case, I had planned and canned stuff.LA Knight on working with The Miz
Additionally, Knight talked about how he has worked differently in other places. He would go out, face the crowd, and then would react to the genuine heat. To do something pre-planned was a bit stale for him. He mentioned the uncomfortable feeling he experienced while remembering to keep his lines within the allotted time frame.
Despite his disliking, in general, the Megastar felt that working with the 43-year-old superstar was great for both of them. While Knight sees himself as the key that rekindled passion in The Miz, he believes that it was through facing the 8-time Intercontinental Champion, that he made his mark on the main roster.
He sees all his work as a cumulative effect that prevented him from getting fired from WWE. For the unversed, Knight defeated The Miz in a series of matches, with the special being at Payback 2023 with John Cena as the guest referee.
LA Knight opens up about regretting not returning to WWE sooner
Many people don’t know that this is not the first WWE run of the Megastar, LA Knight. He was one of the first performance center recruits by WWE in 2013.
However, he was soon released and then began working in the Indies. In his conversation with Chris Van Vliet, he revealed how he was allowed to return to the Stamford-based company between 2016-18. “Yes“, he said as he affirmed his regret in denying the opportunity.

Knight also stated how after his stint with Impact Wrestling, he felt that his career had reached its apex. However, once he received the offer from WWE, he decided to play with the risk as it only guaranteed him work in the performance center and not the main roster.
The Megastar also mentioned how his time in Impact Wrestling wasn’t very likable but the fear of being broke pushed him. Despite his apprehensions, he was very warmly received at the backstage in WWE. Since then, Knight has not only delivered memorable moments but, even received the honor of being in Bray Wyatt’s last match. However, with 2024, he believes that he should get his hands on a title, an opportunity that he identifies as long-due.
