WATCH: LA Knight digs deep to aim an artful callback at Kevin Nash’s infamous “adjective play” WCW promo on SmackDown
The Megastar didn't hold himself back while taking a shot at Kevin Nash over his botched WCW promo from the late 1990s.

LA Knight might just be the best trash-talker in business right now. This week’s SmackDown was a testament to his alleged gift of the gab. He decided to address the comments of The Miz about him on Monday Night Raw. However, instead of just settling his beef, Knight threw caution to the wind and dragged Kevin Nash into the matter.
Talking about Miz’s theme song, which reads, “I came to play,” LA affirmed that had he been a moron, he’d have said, let’s look at the adjective. However, since he’s not, he’s going to say, “let’s look at that verb, play”. Now, it was one hell of an improvisation from the 40-year-old, referencing Kevin Nash’s WCW Nitro adjective play promo where Scott Hall introduced the Big Daddy Cool to Eric Bischoff.
Knight and Nash’s names were in the limelight quite a few weeks ago. The WWE HOF’er vehemently criticized LA Knight for being nothing but a rip-off of The Rock and Steve Austin. It didn’t take long for Knight to address Nash’s comments about him on an episode of SmackDown.
Although the former Impact Wrestling star didn’t outright mention the NWO member, Knight asserted that some people have been gaining “views” and “clicks” by using LA’s name. He took a shot at all the people who had been talking about him.
It was a subtle wordplay intended for Nash’s ‘Kliq This’ podcast, during which The Giant Villa went rampant on LA Knight. As it stands, the latter has given back to Oz more than he would’ve expected. Well, things might get interesting if the WCW icon decides to address Knight’s latest dig at him during his podcast.
WWE has finally decided to capitalize on LA Knight’s popularity
The one move that everybody saw coming was WWE potentially locking LA Knight in for a long-term deal. Based on the business he’s been doing lately, the higher-ups had no choice but to offer a brand-new contract to The Megastar. According to PWInsider, the deal will last around 5 years. As of now, either the contract has been signed or is in the final stages of completion.
Nonetheless, all the indicators point towards a ‘mega-push’ for the Megastar. A glimpse of that has already been in place, with Knight on a winning streak. Last night on SmackDown, after dissecting Kevin Nash on the microphone, LA Knight defeated Austin Theory despite Grayson Waller’s meddling. Next week, John Cena will be a guest on The Grayson Waller Effect, which will certainly be a must-watch show.
