Professional wrestlers come from diverse backgrounds and some even have a tough past. The same can be said for the former WWE Superstar, Macey Estrella, aka Lacey Evans. She recently appeared in the Insight Podcast with Chris Van Vliet. She spoke at length about how physical abuse from her father changed her life.
Lacey was prompted to visit her early days when Vliet asked her if she understood the difference between her family and any other ones out there. She spoke about how it was natural for her to be aware of the problems when she could easily distinguish them from those around her and this experience prompted her to bring a change.
It was so obvious that my house was different. My father's drug addiction, when I would have to step over his body. He was high on his recliner and getting up to go to school at such a young age... If we could just talk about mental health and being positive. So I do seminars and bring that back to the community.Macey Estrella during her conversation in the Insight Podcast
For the unversed Evans was last seen in a dark match on SmackDown in July 2023. Post that, she was released from the Stamford-based company in August. Since then, she has dabbled in different areas of work from producing adult content to starting a “Sunny Summers Cafe‘ which occasionally conducts such awareness drives. Evans finds it as her own way of bringing good to society.
Lacey Evans addresses the possibility of signing with AEW
Macey Estrella uncovered her thoughts on a lot of topics in her conversation with Chris Van Vliet. Fans remember her for the Sassy Southern Belle gimmick and her rivalries against Bayley and Charlotte Flair. She was also questioned about the possibility of entering the rival promotion of WWE, AEW.
She sounded quite positive about the prospect and reflected on her willingness to go in case any exciting opportunity arises. To quote her:
We’ll see. We’ll see what’s down the pipeline. I still have a six-pack and I’m still mean as f**k. When the phone rings or when I make that agreement or when we finish conversations, then I’ll be ready. It’s nothing personal. It’s not that I didn’t love it, I loved it.Macey Estrella during the conversation on AEW
The former WWE Superstar explained how she is still in fantastic shape. She threw the ball in AEW’s court by talking about her awaiting the phone call. However, she showed professionalism by declaring her condition of first scrutinizing the opportunity and then proceeding to grab it.
While she still has her hands full with running a cafe and content production online, fans would be glad if they could see her once again in the squared circle.
