Lately, the wrestling community has been experiencing wrestlers going through a lot of injuries. AEW’s CJ Perry, aka Lana in WWE, has been affected by an infection in her finger for many weeks. She recently took to ‘X’ to update her fans by sharing some concerning news.
Her post states that it was during her visit to the surgeon that she got informed about how there needs to be more blood flow through her finger. Perry even shared the possibility that she might need to go through a second surgery in case the desired results aren’t achieved.

Below is a graphic image of the wound that has been troubling her for so long. Her previous surgery took place in late December 2023 at Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Lana even had to spend more than 50 days hospitalized. It even affected her time with AEW, making her appearances more sporadic with less depth.
Perry was last seen at the December 30 pay-per-view, Worlds End. She accompanied Andrade El Idolo for his match against her husband, Miro. Amidst the match, the 38-year-old seemed to have a change of heart as she betrayed her client in what ended up being his last AEW match and set the stage for Miro’s victory. Time will tell when she’ll next appear on the AEW programming.
Update on CJ Perry’s future in AEW
After her departure from the Stamford-based company, CJ Perry had remained absent for quite some time from the wrestling industry. It was at AEW All Out that she made her debut in the Tony Khan-led promotion. She upheld the gimmick of seemingly joining against the wishes of her husband.

Several months ago, she enlisted Andrade El Idolo as her first client. Andrade cherished her company, especially after getting embroiled in a feud with Miro. While the latter was furious to see Perry join him, he was on a redemption tour. At last, the 38-year-old finally chose to abandon Andrade to side with her husband.
While her finger infection has limited her number of appearances, she has for now cemented her allegiance with Miro. Fans are eager to see if her alliance with her husband will be a brief one or if she will rekindle the flame they had in their run with WWE. With a stacked AEW roster in sight, it would be a nice nostalgia trip for the fans if Perry once again ordered Miro to “crush” his opponents.
