A lot has been happening around in WWE currently as the company shifts their focus for an Europe expansion of their NXT brand as early as next year, potentially swirling NXT UK aback. Until now, the only external connect for NXT was its United Kingdom subsidiary which was launched in 2016 with a vision to produce main-roster talents from UK.

To a fair extent, they have been successful in bolstering the new talents and give some of the most hard-hitting and physical superstars including Rhea Ripley, Gunther (formerly as Walter), Butch (formerly as Pete Dunne) and Doudrop (formerly as Piper Niven). These specially mentioned names are already on WWE’s main programming of Raw and Smackdown performing in front of a much larger audience base and viewer connect.

The longest reigning NXT UK champion till date has been Gunther who held that title for well over 600 days displaying a career-making run putting his opponents well apart and down in the ring. This territory of NXT had one thing in common and that was some real hard-hitting brutal fighting style which made each and every match look legit real to the viewers. Some of the most recent examples of such wrestling features are Ilja Dragunov and current NXT UK Champion Tyler Bate. Current member of The Brawling Brutes Butch a.k.a Pete Dunne also known as The Bruiserweight was a menace by character before coming onto the main-roster and playing some out of control Psychohead.

The current state of NXT is operating under its 2.0 refurbishment where the baton is held by superstars like Bron Breaker, Grayson Waller, Carmelo Hayes, Joey Gacy, Cora Jade, The Toxic Attraction and many more. These talented young guns have shown a lot of versatility throughout the period and have emerged out establishing their unique identities among the WWE Universe.

As we head towards a change, the company is making sure to cut short their UK roster by releasing talents whom they believe wont be providing much value to them or won’t be able to relocate to Europe for further business.
