Liv Morgan wins the SmackDown Women's Championship
Liv Morgan had showed the WWE Universe that she has the potential to become a WWE Women’s Champion back in december, when she had faced Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Championship. She had lost the match but had earned the respect of the WWE Universe. This Saturday at the Money in the Bank Live event, Morgan won her first ever WWE Championship when she defeated Ronda Rousey for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Liv Morgan had qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder Match along with Alexa Bliss, when both of them defeated Nikki A.S.H and Doudrop on an edition of RAW in the past month. Liv Morgan was a participant of the MITB Ladder match in 2021 but had failed to win the match, this year she qualified and even managed to win the MITB contract successfully, She cashed it in on the same night against Ronda Rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Liv Morgan says she did it for the WWE Universe
Liv Morgan, Asuka, Becky Lynch, Shotzi, Rachel Rodriguez, Lacey Evans, and Alexa Bliss competed in this year’s Money in the Bank Ladder match. The contest was a surge of excitement, with each woman battling her way towards the briefcase. Towards the end of the match Becky Lynch pushed Morgan’s Ladder towards the ropes, but Liv managed to push it back and balanced the ladder. She then knocked Becky down and managed to climb the ladder and retrieve the Briefcase.
Liv Morgan then cashed in her contract the same night and challenged Ronda Rousey for a bout. Rousey, who had just defended her Smackdown Women’s Championship against Natalya was limping but managed to deliver an ankle lock on Morgan, the latter took advantage of rousey’s injured leg and kicked her on it, thereafter pinning rousey to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Liv Morgan gave an interview backstage and was very emotional after winning both the MITB Ladder match and the Women’s Championship the same night. She said that this is all she wanted and has been searching for her entire life, ever since she was a little girl she wanted to be a woman’s champion, she said.
“This is like the feeling I’ve been searching for my whole entire life. This is all I’ve ever, my gosh, this is all I’ve ever wanted. This is all I’ve ever wanted since I was a little girl and I literally can’t believe that I have it.my gosh.”
When asked how she felt when the crowd started chanting her name and when she held that title, she said it was an awesome moment and that she always wanted to do it for the WWE Universe, and she’s delighted that she did it for them, as they’ve always supported her and that they all are champions.
“It was amazing, it was everything.I did this for them, I did this for you guys. You guys believe in me so much I wanted to give you something to believe in.We did it, we’re champions,we did it, my gosh [LAUGH] my gosh.”
Liv Morgan was overjoyed and emotional, and we, too, hoped she would become a champion one day. Her hard work and devotion have obviously paid off, and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table next.
