33-year-old reveals the possible reason for an alleged real-life animosity between WWE legend Bret Hart and Gunther

Recently, The Ring General and his stablemate, Ludwig Kaiser, fired back at the Hall of Famer for criticizing the former’s title match against Sheamus. Both Imperium members were the guests on the latest edition of WWE’s The Bump. Speaking on the show, Gunther faced questions about his opinion on Bret Hart. Sharing his honest thoughts, the 36-year-old admitted that Bret Hart is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He also stated that the 66-year-old was exceedingly popular in Germany and Australia.

However, The Ring General hasn’t forgotten the negative criticisms the wrestling legend gave for the former’s match at Clash at The Castle 2022. In addition, Ludwig Kaiser added his comments, revealing the actual reason behind Bret Hart’s bitterness towards Gunther. He stated that the 66-year-old is still holding grudges over getting beat up by his father in Germany.

Don’t you worry about it because when he was a young up-and-comer he actually competed in Germany & got beat several times by my Dad so he, you know, figured that out in-advance for us. I heard he’s quite bitter about it nowadays.

Ludwig Kaiser’s father, Axel Dieter, is one of the most highly esteemed European wrestlers of all time. Kaiser began his wrestling training under the mentorship of his legendary father. Moreover, Gunther concluded his answer by asserting that he had nothing nice to add about Bret Hart.

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart graced the inaugural Clash At The Castle premium live event in 2022. While the physically brutal match was being touted as a Match of the Year contender, the WWE legend was not impressed by the match.

Earlier this year, in March, Bret Hart sat down for an interview with HNLive. Speaking in the interview via Fightful, the 66-year-old revealed that he was embarrassed to sit front row and watch the wrestlers rain heavy chops on each other. The Hitman Hart was heavily critical of the leg slaps and scathing chops that the wrestlers used while advocating the use of headlock takeovers.

I went to a show not too long ago in Cardiff, a pay-per-view, it was embarrassing to sit in the front row and watch all the kids in the audience slap their leg as the wrestlers slap their leg in these kick spots where they pretend to kick each other with shin pads and slap sounds over and over.

He went as far as describing the match as a “big giant charade.” Furthermore, the WWE Hall of Famer recounted that he has never allowed anyone to hit such heavy chops on his chest. He added that the only wrestler who had likely landed a chop on him was Ric Flair. Several WWE fans took issue with Hart’s unwarranted criticism, urging the latter to evolve his perspective on modern wrestling.
